Americans are prudish sex negative anti-birth control and many have fundamentalist beliefs about virginal purity that would be at home in any rural traditional part of the world including most of western China. Ask any western European and they will tell you all about the contrast between their cultures’ openness about sex vs. how conservative Americans are. Europeans are very nude-positive and sex-positive.

Every time I read an answer about Chinese culture I realize it is very very similar to Indian culture in so many aspects like Education trying hard to hold on to its own traditional culture in this era of globalization etc.

What a silly thing to say. That's like me saying that people in the west who cheat on their partners during marriage have become Chinacised.

It's also well known that much of the American population is ultra conservative and see sex as strictly a post marriage thing.

This basically applies to the cities and the more ‘cosmopolitan’ cities in particular – though not just Shanghai and Beijing – pretty much all the port cities as well as larger cities along the Eastern seaboard. There are enough foreigners living and working in China that even if Chinese don’t ‘know’ any foreigners they are out and about on the streets so Chinese are not so shocked at seeing foreigners.

China turned out to be a huge market for all things western so within the past 20 years China has ‘opened up’ to western food (mostly unfortunately our fast food chains – the leader is Subway followed by McDonalds and Pizza Hut). Likewise shopping opportunities – whether for western clothing/accessories such as Zara/Prada or cars – are pretty much all over China now though the ‘richer’ and more cosmopolitan cities have the best choices (though it’s never certain that you aren’t buying fake knock-offs as the Chinese are well aware!)

Finally Chinese are traveling in HUGE numbers not just throughout Asia but also Europe and the Americas.

It’s not the same nation it was 20 years ago. There’s good in this (more cosmopolitan) and bad (materialism anyone?)

中国在过去20年里已经成为所有西方事物的巨大市场，比如中国开放了许多西方食物连锁店（不幸的是大多是都是快餐店，比如赛百味，麦当劳和必胜客）。同样地，更多的商品贸易机会——不管是西方的服装业，比如Zara、Prada或者汽车——都已经在中国遍地都是，虽然在更富有和国际化的城市会有更好的选择（虽然你永远没办法确定自己不是买的假货）。

最后，中国人有很大一部分在世界各地旅行，不仅仅只是亚洲，还有欧洲和美洲。

这个国家已经不再是20年前的样子了，这样既有好处（更加国际化），也带来了坏处（人们更加崇尚物质）。
