few 和 a few 都是修饰可数名词复数，但它们的用法不同

few 表示否定“几乎没有”，

a few 表示肯定“有一点儿” 与some / several 同义。

如

1.There are few apples at home. Let's go and buy some .

家里几乎没有苹果了。让我们去买一些吧。

2. The maths problem is so difficult that few students can work it out.

这产数学题如此难以致几乎没有学生能算出/解答得出。

3. There are a few books in the bag .

包里有几本书。

4. There are a few students on the playground.

操场上有几个学生。
